Entry requirements

At Lancaster we don't specify which A-level (or equivalent) subjects you should take in order to qualify for a place. Arts and sciences are considered equally appropriate, for example. Our normal offer at A level is AAB. You must also have acquired a Maths qualification equivalent to GCSE grade B or higher.

We welcome mature students. About a quarter of our students are people who didn't go to University immediately on leaving school. Mature students need, though, to have recently done a psychology-related course (such as A-levels, Access courses, or Open University Foundation courses) as well as having a Maths qualification equivalent to GCSE grade B or higher.

The list below gives typical entry requirements for students starting in 2012 on our single honours course and the majority of our combined majors courses are similar. Students should consult the university prospectus or contact our Admissions Tutor if they have enquiries about our entry requirements.
